Project Details
Over six months, we completely revamped Yes Bank’s mobile banking app, transforming their legacy platform into a modern, user-friendly solution for seamless customer acquisition and service. The goal was to create an integrated, branch-like banking experience within the app, offering end-to-end user support and efficient digital journeys. Along with this, we restyled Yes Bank’s digital assets and visual language, extending the new design to their website for a cohesive online experience.

About the client
IRIS by YES BANK is a digital banking platform designed to enhance customer experiences by blending traditional banking services with modern fintech innovations. It offers an intuitive interface, integrating gamification and interactive features to appeal to Gen Z and millennial users. The platform aims to simplify banking through seamless, user-friendly journeys, making everyday financial tasks more engaging and accessible.
The Brief
“Redesign the IRIS banking app for YES BANK into a modern, fintech-inspired platform that is visually appealing, user-friendly, and accessible. Deliver a seamless, branch-like experience with improved usability and consistency for a diverse audience aged 18-64”
Thought Process
- Given the volume of the project consisting of over 200+ threads encompassing 5000+ screens we couldn’t restrict ourselves to one set design process for all the requirements
- Each requirement had to be backed with a well informed ‘Business Requirement Document’ after reviewing which the right course of action for the design was decided
- Although each design thread had used different process there was a set initial process which was common for most
The Common Initial Process
Understanding the requirement brief
Setup a briefing call with the clients to understand the basic requirement and its technicalities
Research
Conduct secondary research on the product to understand its scalability and requirement to the user
Conduct a competitor analysis to understand the competition while gathering references for the design
Validation assumptions with the product SPOCs/heads to avoid any confusion
Conduct primary research if required over a series of IRIS by YES BANK users and stakeholders to gather more insights.
Finalising scope and timelines
Confirm research findings and validations with the client to proceed.
Consider the efforts to provide a realistic effort with sufficient buffer time to work on other incoming requirements
Brainstorming
Brainstorming innovative ideas off the white board with a group of designers
Validation
Filtering the ideas out based on RBI guidelines, development feasibility and API availability with the client
Presenting the ideas to the clients to validate client expectation and ETB users demand
Oops! Anything more and we will be trespassing into NDA territory
